About the Role
Our client is seeking a creative and technically proficient Product Development Technologist to join their innovative team in Plymouth . This role focuses on the development of new and existing FMCG products, ensuring they meet stringent quality, safety, and regulatory standards while aligning with market trends and consumer preferences. You will be involved in all stages of the product lifecycle, from concept generation to launch. This position is vital for driving product innovation and maintaining our client's reputation for quality and excellence in the FMCG market.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new FMCG product formulations and improve existing ones based on market research and consumer insights.
- Conduct product testing, stability trials, and sensory evaluations to ensure quality and performance.
- Collaborate with R&D, marketing, and production teams throughout the product development process.
- Ensure all product development activities comply with relevant food safety, quality, and legislative requirements.
- Prepare technical documentation, specifications, and product information for internal and external stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to product manufacturing and quality.
Requirements
- Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- 1-3 years of experience in product development, preferably within the FMCG or food manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of food processing techniques, ingredient functionality, and regulatory standards.
- Strong understanding of product development methodologies and quality assurance principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and laboratory skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
