About the Role

Our client is seeking a creative and technically skilled Product Development Technologist to drive innovation within their FMCG product portfolio. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute from anywhere in the UK. You will be instrumental in the conceptualization, development, and launch of new products, ensuring they meet stringent quality, safety, and commercial standards. This role demands a blend of scientific expertise, culinary creativity, and project management acumen within the fast-paced consumer goods sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, develop, and reformulate new FMCG products, focusing on consumer trends and market opportunities.
• Conduct laboratory-scale product development trials and scale-up processes to manufacturing.
• Ensure all product development adheres to regulatory requirements, food safety standards, and internal quality specifications.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, procurement, and manufacturing, throughout the product lifecycle.
• Prepare comprehensive product development documentation, including specifications, ingredient lists, and process descriptions.
• Stay abreast of emerging ingredients, technologies, and processing techniques relevant to the FMCG industry.

Requirements

• Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in product development, ideally within the FMCG food or beverage sector.
• Strong understanding of food chemistry, processing, and manufacturing principles.
• Experience with sensory evaluation, shelf-life testing, and quality assurance protocols.
• Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple development projects concurrently.
• Proficiency in data analysis and report writing.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to thrive in a remote work environment.
