About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Production Line Supervisor to oversee operations at their state-of-the-art facility in Leicester . This pivotal role involves leading a team of production operatives, ensuring that all manufacturing processes are carried out efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. You will be instrumental in driving productivity, maintaining a positive work environment, and collaborating with other departments to meet production targets. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of manufacturing principles, contributing to the continuous improvement initiatives within the plant and fostering a culture of excellence and accountability amongst the production workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the production line team, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
- Ensure that all production targets are met on time and within budget, while maintaining strict quality control measures.
- Implement and enforce health and safety regulations, conducting regular safety checks and addressing any potential hazards.
- Provide training and guidance to new and existing team members, fostering their development and ensuring adherence to operational procedures.
- Monitor equipment performance, reporting any malfunctions and coordinating with maintenance teams for timely repairs to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate production records, including output, waste, and downtime, and participate in production planning meetings.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Demonstrable understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving production issues.
- Proficiency in using production management software and standard office applications.
