About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Production Line Supervisor to oversee daily operations within their busy manufacturing facility located in Leicester . This critical role involves leading a team of production operatives, ensuring that all targets for output, quality, and safety are met consistently. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and a proven ability to manage and motivate a diverse workforce. You will play a key part in driving efficiency and maintaining the high standards our client is known for, contributing directly to the success of the production department and the overall business goals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of production line staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Monitor production output, quality control , and adherence to schedules, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure all health and safety regulations are strictly followed, promoting a safe working environment for all employees.
- Conduct regular team briefings, provide training, and conduct performance reviews for production staff.
- Manage resource allocation, including materials and personnel, to optimize production efficiency and minimize waste.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as maintenance and logistics, to resolve operational issues and improve workflows.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Production Supervisor or in a similar leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing principles, and quality management systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Familiarity with health and safety legislation within the UK manufacturing sector.
- Ability to analyze production data and implement process improvements.
