About the Role
Our client is seeking a strategic and well-connected Public Affairs Advisor to join their esteemed Media & PR team in Glasgow . This critical role focuses on building and maintaining relationships with government bodies, policymakers, and key stakeholders to advocate for our client's interests. You will be responsible for monitoring the political landscape, advising on public policy implications, and developing strategies to effectively communicate our client's position. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a keen understanding of public affairs and a passion for influencing policy within a dynamic Scottish context, working from our Glasgow office.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement public affairs strategies to support the organization's objectives.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments relevant to the industry.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, political parties, and industry associations.
- Prepare briefing materials, policy papers, and submissions to government consultations.
- Represent the organization at relevant industry events and policy forums.
- Advise senior management on public affairs matters and potential political risks and opportunities.
Requirements
- Significant experience in public affairs, government relations, or policy advocacy.
- Strong understanding of the political landscape in Scotland and the UK.
- Excellent analytical, research, and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
- Bachelor's degree in Politics, Public Policy, Law, or a related field.
- Experience in preparing policy documents and advocacy materials.
