Public Affairs Advisor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a politically astute and well-connected Public Affairs Advisor to join their team, ideally based in or near Edinburgh , with the flexibility of a remote role. You will be responsible for monitoring the political landscape, engaging with stakeholders, and advising the organisation on policy and legislative developments that impact its operations. This role requires a deep understanding of government relations and a proactive approach to advocacy, working remotely to influence key decision-makers and shape public discourse.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor government policies, legislation, and political developments relevant to the organisation.
• Develop and implement effective public affairs strategies and advocacy campaigns.
• Build and maintain relationships with policymakers, government officials, and industry influencers.
• Prepare policy briefings, position papers, and consultation responses.
• Represent the organisation at relevant parliamentary committees, working groups, and industry events.
• Advise senior management on political risks and opportunities.

  Requirements
• Proven experience in public affairs , government relations, or political campaigning.
• Excellent understanding of the UK political system and legislative process, particularly in Scotland.
• Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience in stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects effectively in a remote setting.
• Discretion and a high level of integrity are essential.
