About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Refinery Process Engineer to join their advanced operations in Cambridge . This role is integral to ensuring the efficient, safe, and environmentally compliant operation of refinery processes. You will be responsible for monitoring process performance, identifying optimisation opportunities, and troubleshooting complex operational issues. This position requires a deep understanding of refining technologies and a commitment to continuous improvement in a demanding industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse the performance of various refinery units, identifying deviations and areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement process optimisation strategies to enhance yield, energy efficiency, and product quality.
• Troubleshoot operational problems, conduct root cause analyses, and implement effective solutions.
• Perform process safety reviews and ensure adherence to all relevant safety and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and technical teams to ensure smooth plant operations in Cambridge .
• Support capital projects related to refinery upgrades and modifications.
• Stay abreast of new refining technologies and industry best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in process engineering within the oil and gas refining industry.
• Strong knowledge of refinery unit operations (e.g., distillation, cracking, reforming).
• Proficiency with process simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent understanding of process safety principles and environmental compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
