About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and certified Air Traffic Control Specialist to join their innovative, remote-first operations team, supporting aviation safety from anywhere in the UK . In this critical role, you will remotely manage and direct air traffic, ensuring the safe, orderly, and expeditious flow of aircraft in controlled airspace. You will leverage advanced communication and surveillance technologies to monitor flight paths, provide critical information to pilots, and coordinate with other aviation stakeholders, all while working within a flexible, home-based environment. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage air traffic within assigned airspace using sophisticated radar, communication, and flight data systems.
- Provide clear, concise, and timely instructions and information to pilots to ensure safe separation and efficient routing.
- Coordinate with other air traffic control facilities, airlines, and emergency services to manage traffic flow and respond to incidents.
- Utilize advanced meteorological data and NOTAMs (Notices to Airmen) to anticipate and manage potential air traffic disruptions.
- Maintain vigilant situational awareness and rapidly respond to abnormal or emergency situations, implementing established procedures.
- Continuously monitor and adhere to all regulatory requirements and company policies governing air traffic control operations.
Requirements
- Valid certification as an Air Traffic Controller with relevant ratings and endorsements.
- Demonstrable experience in managing air traffic in complex or busy airspace environments.
- Proficiency with modern air traffic control systems, including radar displays, communication consoles, and flight data processing.
- Excellent decision-making capabilities, situational awareness, and the ability to perform under high-pressure conditions.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to remain calm and decisive during critical events.
