About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented and motivated Remote Aircraft Systems Software Developer to join their innovative engineering team. Working entirely from home, you will be instrumental in developing, testing, and maintaining sophisticated software solutions for cutting-edge aircraft systems. This role demands a strong understanding of embedded systems, real-time programming, and the unique challenges of aerospace software development. You will collaborate virtually with a global team, contributing to the creation of reliable, high-performance software that powers the next generation of aircraft, all managed from your remote location near Oxford .
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement robust software modules for aircraft systems using languages like C/C++, Ada, or Python.
- Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code adhering to stringent aerospace software standards (e.g., DO-178C).
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, unit testing, integration, and validation.
- Collaborate effectively with other software engineers, systems engineers, and project managers through virtual communication tools.
- Debug and resolve complex software defects and performance issues in a timely manner.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in embedded software development, preferably within the aerospace or defense industry.
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ and experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
- Familiarity with avionics standards and development processes is highly desirable.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and software development methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and remote collaboration skills .
