About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Remote Automotive Systems Engineer to play a pivotal role in designing and integrating complex automotive systems. This position offers the flexibility of remote work, allowing you to contribute to groundbreaking automotive projects from anywhere in the UK, while being part of a team based in the Cambridge innovation hub. You will be instrumental in defining system requirements, developing architectural designs, and ensuring the seamless integration of hardware and software components for future vehicle platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Define system requirements and functional specifications for automotive subsystems.
• Develop and maintain system architecture designs, ensuring modularity, scalability, and robustness.
• Oversee the integration of various automotive components, including ECUs, sensors, actuators, and software modules.
• Perform system-level analysis and troubleshooting to identify and resolve integration issues.
• Collaborate closely with software, hardware, and mechanical engineering teams to ensure cohesive system development.
• Develop and execute system validation and verification test plans.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Substantial experience as an Automotive Systems Engineer or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in systems engineering principles and methodologies.
• Experience with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
• Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS) and simulation tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex technical challenges remotely.
