About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Remote Automotive Systems Engineer to contribute to the design and development of complex vehicle systems. This is a fully remote position, offering the opportunity to work on challenging projects from the comfort of your home office. You will be responsible for defining system requirements, designing architectures, and integrating various automotive subsystems, such as powertrain, chassis, or electrical distribution systems. This role requires a deep understanding of vehicle dynamics, control systems, and a strong ability to collaborate effectively with global engineering teams in the fast-paced automotive industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, document, and manage system requirements for automotive components and sub-systems.
- Develop system architectures and detailed designs, ensuring compliance with functional safety and cybersecurity standards.
- Perform system integration, validation, and verification activities for various vehicle platforms.
- Utilize modeling and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink) to analyze system performance and optimize designs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve technical issues and ensure seamless integration of components.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and release reports for automotive systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Automotive Systems Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of vehicle integration.
- Expertise in defining system requirements, developing architectures, and performing system-level testing.
- Familiarity with functional safety (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity principles in the automotive domain.
- Proficiency with systems engineering tools and methodologies.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills suitable for remote collaboration.
