About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Remote Category Manager to lead sourcing efforts for key spend categories. This fully remote position allows you to leverage your expertise in strategic sourcing and supplier management from any location. You will be responsible for developing and implementing category strategies, managing supplier relationships, and driving significant value and cost savings for the organization. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, exceptional negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a distributed team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies for assigned spend areas, aligning with business objectives.
- Lead end-to-end sourcing processes, including market analysis, supplier selection, negotiation, and contract award.
- Manage key supplier relationships, monitor performance, and identify opportunities for collaboration and innovation.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives and process improvements within your categories to achieve significant savings.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure procurement solutions meet business needs.
- Mitigate supply chain risks and ensure compliance with company policies and ethical sourcing standards.
Requirements
- Significant experience in category management, strategic sourcing, or a senior buyer role.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing category strategies that deliver substantial cost savings.
- Expertise in negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to conduct thorough market and spend analysis.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with proven experience in a remote work setting.
