About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Remote Civil Engineer with a strong background in Flood Risk and Water Management to join their virtual engineering team. This fully remote position allows you to contribute to vital projects focused on mitigating flood risk and optimizing water resources across the UK. You will be responsible for assessing flood hazards, designing flood defence structures, and developing sustainable water management strategies, all while working from your preferred location. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct flood risk assessments (FRA) and develop flood mitigation strategies for various development projects.
- Design hydraulic structures, flood defences, drainage systems, and sustainable drainage solutions (SuDS).
- Perform hydrological analysis and modelling using relevant software.
- Collaborate remotely with clients, regulatory bodies (e.g., Environment Agency), and internal teams to ensure compliance and project success.
- Prepare technical reports, design documents, and presentations on water management and flood risk.
- Provide expert advice on water-related environmental issues and sustainable water resource management.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related environmental science discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in flood risk assessment, water management, or hydraulic engineering.
- Proficiency in hydraulic modelling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, InfoWorks) and CAD packages.
- In-depth knowledge of UK flood risk policy, legislation, and best practices.
- Excellent remote communication, collaboration, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively.
