About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Civil Design Engineer specializing in Flood Risk and Drainage to join their team in Norwich . This role is essential for developing innovative solutions to manage water resources and mitigate flood risks for various development projects. You will apply your technical expertise in hydrological analysis, drainage design, and SuDS implementation, contributing to sustainable development in Norfolk. Key Responsibilities
- Undertake detailed hydraulic modelling and flood risk assessments.
- Design surface water and foul water drainage systems, including the integration of SuDS.
- Prepare comprehensive design reports, calculations, and drawings for planning submissions.
- Liaise with environmental agencies, water authorities, and local planning departments.
- Review site investigation data and provide recommendations for ground conditions related to drainage.
- Contribute to the development of sustainable water management strategies for projects.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering , Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrable experience in flood risk assessment and drainage design.
- Proficiency in relevant software such as MicroDrainage, HEC-RAS, or equivalent.
- Understanding of relevant UK legislation and guidance (e.g., R&D, NPPF).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines within a hybrid working environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and stakeholder engagement.
