Remote Cybersecurity Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Remote Cybersecurity Specialist to join their expanding security team. This role is focused on defending against cyber threats, managing security incidents, and implementing security best practices across the organisation's digital landscape. You will work independently from a remote location, collaborating with internal teams to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information systems. This position offers the chance to contribute to a robust security framework, operating remotely while supporting the company's infrastructure based around Stoke-on-Trent .

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and events from various security tools, including SIEM and IDS/IPS.
• Investigate and respond to security incidents, performing analysis and coordinating remediation efforts.
• Assist in the development and implementation of security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and support remediation activities.
• Provide support for security awareness training programs for employees.
• Maintain and update security documentation and operational guides.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in a cybersecurity or information security role.
• Familiarity with common cybersecurity threats, attack vectors, and mitigation techniques.
• Experience with security monitoring tools and incident response processes.
• Good understanding of networking concepts and operating system security.
