About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Remote Data Protection Lawyer to bolster their legal team, operating entirely remotely. This role is crucial for ensuring the company remains compliant with all relevant data privacy regulations, including GDPR and UK data protection laws. You will provide expert advice on data processing activities, draft privacy policies, and manage data breach responses, working closely with various departments across the organization. This position offers the ultimate flexibility for a legal professional passionate about data privacy and comfortable working autonomously from anywhere in the UK .
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on all aspects of data protection law, including GDPR, UK GDPR, and related legislation.
- Develop, review, and implement data protection policies, procedures, and privacy notices.
- Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and advise on their outcomes.
- Manage and respond to data subject access requests (DSARs) and other data rights requests.
- Assist in managing and responding to data breaches, including regulatory notifications.
- Provide training and guidance to internal teams on data protection best practices.
Requirements
- Qualified solicitor or barrister with a strong focus on data protection and privacy law.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience advising on GDPR and UK data protection regulations.
- In-depth knowledge of data processing agreements, international data transfers, and consent management.
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Experience in managing complex data privacy projects and advising on new technologies.
- Comfortable working in a fully remote environment and utilizing digital collaboration tools.
