About the Role
Our client, a leading professional services firm operating across the UK, is seeking a dedicated Data Protection Lawyer to join their expanding compliance team. This role is crucial for ensuring the organization adheres to the highest standards of data privacy and regulatory compliance. You will be responsible for developing and implementing data protection strategies, advising on legal frameworks such as GDPR, and managing data breach responses. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while playing a key role in protecting sensitive information and maintaining client trust for a reputable firm in Leeds .
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive data protection policies and procedures.
- Provide expert legal advice on GDPR , CCPA, and other relevant data privacy regulations.
- Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and advise on risk mitigation.
- Manage and investigate data breaches, including liaising with regulatory authorities.
- Review and advise on data processing agreements and third-party data sharing arrangements.
- Deliver training and awareness programs on data protection best practices across the organization.
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor or equivalent with a strong focus on data privacy and compliance .
- In-depth knowledge of GDPR and international data protection laws.
- Experience in advising on data protection impact assessments and breach management.
- Excellent drafting and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and manage complex projects in a remote environment .
- Experience within a regulated industry is a plus.
