About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated and experienced Environmental Scientist to join their globally distributed team. This role is 100% remote, allowing you to contribute to critical environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives for our mining operations from anywhere. You will be instrumental in ensuring that our projects adhere to environmental regulations, developing strategies for impact mitigation, and promoting sustainable practices within the mining industry . Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess the environmental impact of mining operations, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
• Develop and implement environmental management plans, including those for water, air, and land quality.
• Conduct environmental risk assessments and propose mitigation strategies for potential impacts.
• Prepare environmental reports, impact assessments, and permit applications for regulatory submission.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in environmental assessment and compliance, preferably within the mining or heavy industry sector.
• In-depth knowledge of environmental legislation, permitting processes, and impact assessment methodologies.
• Proficiency in environmental data analysis and reporting tools.
• Strong understanding of environmental monitoring techniques and remediation strategies.
