Remote Environmental Scientist - Mining Impact Assessment

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Remote Environmental Scientist to contribute to the sustainable management of their mining operations. This fully remote position allows you to work from your preferred UK location while playing a vital role in assessing and mitigating the environmental impact of our client's mining projects . You will be responsible for conducting environmental impact assessments, developing mitigation strategies, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. This role is critical for maintaining our client's commitment to responsible resource extraction and environmental stewardship across their global activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive environmental impact assessments (EIAs) for new and existing mining sites .
• Develop and implement environmental management plans and monitoring programs.
• Analyze environmental data related to water quality, air emissions, soil contamination, and biodiversity.
• Ensure compliance with national and international environmental regulations and permitting requirements.
• Collaborate virtually with project teams, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to address environmental concerns.
• Prepare detailed environmental reports, permit applications, and sustainability documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in environmental assessment, preferably within the mining or heavy industry sector .
• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and permitting processes.
• Proficiency in environmental data analysis and reporting tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration and report preparation.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.
