About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Remote Financial Controller to lead their financial operations from anywhere in the UK. This is a critical, fully remote position responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial reporting, managing all accounting operations, and driving financial strategy. You will ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, oversee financial planning and analysis, and provide strategic guidance to senior leadership. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, adept at managing teams and processes remotely, with a proven track record in financial control and a deep understanding of accounting principles and best practices, contributing significantly to the company's growth and stability.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of all financial reporting, including monthly and annual accounts, in compliance with relevant standards.
- Develop and maintain robust internal control systems to mitigate financial risks.
- Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
- Manage cash flow and treasury functions to ensure adequate liquidity.
- Provide strategic financial advice and support to the executive team to drive business performance.
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a minimum of 7 years of progressive financial management experience.
- Significant experience in a financial controller or similar senior accounting role, preferably with a remote team.
- In-depth knowledge of UK financial regulations and accounting standards.
- Proven ability to manage and develop accounting teams remotely.
- Expertise in financial planning, analysis, and reporting systems.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
