Remote Financial Controller

About the Role

Our client is looking for a seasoned and proactive Remote Financial Controller to lead their accounting operations. This is a fully remote position, offering the successful candidate the flexibility to work from anywhere within the UK, while being based conceptually in Cardiff . You will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of the company, including financial planning, risk management, and record-keeping. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of financial regulations and a proven ability to manage a remote team effectively, ensuring seamless financial operations and robust reporting structures.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and tax compliance.
• Develop and implement financial strategies and policies to support the company's long-term goals.
• Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to senior management and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, statutory requirements, and internal controls.
• Manage and mentor a remote finance team, fostering a productive and collaborative virtual environment.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing appropriate control measures.

Requirements

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
• Significant experience in a financial controller or senior accounting management role, ideally with remote team leadership.
• Deep understanding of financial regulations, UK tax law , and IFRS/UK GAAP .
• Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency with cloud-based accounting software and virtual collaboration tools.
