About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and proactive Remote Health and Safety Officer to bolster their construction operations across the UK. This role is vital for ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations within their projects, managed entirely from a remote setting. You will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety strategies, policies, and procedures. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures for remote oversight of construction sites.
- Conduct remote risk assessments and identify potential hazards, recommending and implementing control measures.
- Deliver online health and safety training and toolbox talks to site teams and management.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, preparing detailed reports and implementing corrective actions.
- Monitor compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards through site visits (as necessary) and remote audits.
- Advise management and site personnel on all aspects of health, safety, and environmental best practices.
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH National General Certificate or Diploma).
- Proven experience in a Health and Safety role, preferably within the construction sector.
- Strong understanding of UK health and safety legislation and best practices.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, adapted for remote delivery.
- Proficiency in using digital tools for reporting, monitoring, and training.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setup.
