About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary Lead Data Scientist to spearhead their data analytics initiatives within the energy sector , operating on a fully remote basis. You will lead a team of talented data scientists and engineers in developing cutting-edge predictive models and data-driven solutions to optimize energy generation, distribution, and consumption. This is a critical leadership role focused on leveraging vast datasets to uncover actionable insights, enhance operational efficiency, and drive innovation across the business. You will have the autonomy to shape the data science strategy and work with complex, real-world energy data, contributing directly to sustainable energy solutions from anywhere in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data scientists and machine learning engineers.
• Design, develop, and deploy advanced machine learning models for energy forecasting, anomaly detection, and optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business challenges and opportunities for data science solutions.
• Develop and maintain robust data pipelines and infrastructure for large-scale data processing.
• Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for data science projects and evaluate their impact.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven track record (7+ years) in data science, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
• Expertise in programming languages such as Python or R, and proficiency with ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
