About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly analytical and innovative Remote Pharmaceutical Data Scientist to join their global research and development team, supporting operations based in Belfast . This role is crucial for unlocking insights from complex biological and chemical datasets, driving informed decision-making in drug discovery and development. You will leverage advanced statistical modeling, machine learning, and data visualization techniques to interpret large-scale omics data, clinical trial results, and real-world evidence. This fully remote position allows you to work from anywhere in the UK, collaborating virtually with teams across different time zones.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and apply statistical and machine learning models to analyze diverse pharmaceutical datasets.
• Design and conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and correlations relevant to drug development.
• Collaborate with computational biologists, chemists, and clinicians to define data analysis requirements and interpret results.
• Build and maintain data pipelines, ensuring data integrity and accessibility for analysis.
• Visualize complex data in an understandable format for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science, bioinformatics, and pharmaceutical R&D.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in data analysis and predictive modeling, preferably within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and relevant data science libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience with large biological datasets (genomics, proteomics, transcriptomics) and statistical genetics is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative setting.
