About the Role
Our client is expanding its global exploration team and seeks a visionary Remote Lead Geoscientist to spearhead geological interpretation and basin analysis. Operating entirely remotely, you will be instrumental in identifying and evaluating new exploration opportunities across various international basins. This role demands a deep understanding of seismic interpretation, geological modelling, and risk assessment, all while collaborating effectively with dispersed teams via advanced digital communication tools. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the geological evaluation of exploration prospects, integrating seismic, well, and regional data.
- Develop and refine geological models and interpretations using state-of-the-art software.
- Conduct thorough basin analysis and play fairway mapping to identify high-potential exploration targets.
- Perform quantitative risk and uncertainty analysis for exploration opportunities.
- Mentor and guide junior geoscientists and contribute to team knowledge sharing and best practices.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Geology, Geophysics, or a related Earth Science discipline.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in geoscience exploration , with a strong track record of successful prospect generation.
- Expertise in seismic interpretation and structural geology.
- Proficiency with geological modelling and visualization software (e.g., Petrel, GeoGraphix).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, proven ability to work effectively in a fully remote setting.
