About the Role
Our client is seeking an expert Legal Advisor specializing in Data Protection to join their legal team in a fully remote capacity. This vital role will focus on ensuring the company's compliance with all relevant data privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, across its operations. You will provide strategic advice, develop policies, and manage data privacy impact assessments, working closely with IT, marketing, and other departments. The ideal candidate is proactive, possesses deep knowledge of data privacy legislation, and thrives in an autonomous, remote working environment. This is a critical position for safeguarding company and customer data.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal advice on all aspects of data protection and privacy law, including GDPR.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust data privacy policies and procedures.
- Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and advise on mitigation strategies.
- Manage data subject access requests and regulatory inquiries.
- Advise on data processing agreements and international data transfers.
- Provide training and awareness sessions on data privacy to staff remotely.
Requirements
- Qualified solicitor or barrister with significant experience in data protection and privacy law.
- In-depth knowledge of GDPR, UK Data Protection Act, and international privacy regulations.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing data privacy compliance programs.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and advisory skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage workload, and collaborate effectively in a remote setting.
- Experience with technology and digital data handling is highly advantageous.
