About the Role

Our client is actively seeking an experienced Remote Legal Counsel with a focus on Technology Law to join their distributed team, serving clients nationwide including those in Reading . This is a fully remote position that requires a deep understanding of intellectual property, data privacy, and commercial agreements within the technology sector. You will provide strategic legal guidance to product development, engineering, and business teams, helping to navigate complex legal landscapes and support innovation. Key Responsibilities

• Advise on intellectual property strategy, including patent, trademark, and copyright protection and licensing.
• Draft and negotiate technology-related agreements, such as SaaS agreements, software licenses, and development contracts.
• Ensure compliance with data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and advise on privacy policies and data handling practices.
• Support product teams on legal and regulatory aspects of new technology launches.
• Manage and resolve disputes related to intellectual property, contracts, and data privacy.
• Provide counsel on cybersecurity matters and incident response.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with at least 6 years of experience in technology law.
• Strong expertise in IP law, data privacy, and commercial contracting within the tech industry.
• Experience advising on software licensing, cloud computing, and emerging technologies.
• Exceptional ability to work independently and manage a remote workload efficiently.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and drafting skills.
• Familiarity with international technology legal frameworks is a plus.
