About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Remote Legal Counsel with a specialization in technology and data privacy to join their dynamic team. This role is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the UK . You will be responsible for providing expert legal guidance on technology-related matters, including software licensing, intellectual property, data protection, and e-commerce. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, product, and business development teams to support innovation, manage legal risks associated with new technologies, and ensure compliance with global data privacy regulations, contributing significantly to the company's strategic growth and operational integrity in the digital space.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on the legal aspects of software development, licensing, and implementation agreements.
- Manage and protect the company's intellectual property portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
- Ensure compliance with data protection laws such as GDPR and CCPA across all operations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements for technology services and partnerships.
- Provide guidance on cybersecurity incidents and data breach response protocols.
- Support the product development lifecycle with legal expertise on new features and services.
Requirements
- Admitted to practice law in a relevant jurisdiction with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
- Strong background in technology law, intellectual property, and data privacy.
- Experience advising on SaaS agreements and cloud computing services.
- Familiarity with international data transfer mechanisms and privacy frameworks.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advisory skills.
- Proficiency in using remote collaboration tools and a proven ability to work autonomously.
