Remote Logistics Planner - UK Wide Deliveries

About the Role

Our client is seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Remote Logistics Planner to manage and optimise delivery operations nationwide from their Birmingham hub. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient flow of goods, managing carrier relationships, and enhancing the overall supply chain performance. You will work remotely, focusing on strategic planning, resource allocation, and continuous improvement initiatives within the transport division. The ideal candidate will possess a strong aptitude for data analysis and a deep understanding of the complexities of national distribution networks, coupled with the ability to excel in an independent, home-based working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement efficient delivery routes and schedules for national distribution networks.
• Analyse transportation data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve service levels.
• Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and carriers, negotiating terms and ensuring service level agreements are met.
• Utilise advanced planning software and tools to forecast demand and optimise fleet utilisation.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks and disruptions within the supply chain to ensure continuity of operations.
• Collaborate with warehouse and customer service teams to ensure seamless order fulfilment and delivery.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics planning, supply chain management, or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and generate actionable insights.
• Proficiency in logistics planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle TMS, Blue Yonder) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent understanding of transportation modes, regulations, and best practices across the UK.
