Remote Logistics Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and proactive Remote Logistics Planner to manage and optimize transportation routes and schedules from anywhere within the UK. This fully remote role requires meticulous planning to ensure the timely and cost-effective movement of goods across various locations, including supporting operations near Derby . You will be responsible for coordinating carriers, tracking shipments, and resolving logistical challenges, all while working independently. This position is ideal for someone who excels at planning, communication, and problem-solving in a virtual environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule inbound and outbound logistics movements, optimizing routes for efficiency and cost.
• Coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and internal teams to manage shipments.
• Track shipments in real-time and proactively address any delays or issues.
• Ensure all necessary documentation for transportation is accurate and complete.
• Analyze logistics data to identify opportunities for cost savings and service improvements.
• Maintain clear and effective communication channels with all stakeholders involved in the supply chain.
• Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity in logistics operations.

Requirements

• Previous experience in logistics planning, transportation management, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of transportation modes, carrier management, and route optimization.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills with a high degree of accuracy.
• Proficiency in using logistics software and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work autonomously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills suitable for remote interaction.
