About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in medical devices to join their expanding team. This fully remote position allows you to contribute to the development of life-saving and life-enhancing medical technologies from anywhere. You will be responsible for the mechanical design aspects of innovative medical equipment, working closely with a distributed team of engineers, researchers, and product managers. This role demands excellent communication skills, a proactive approach, and a deep understanding of the regulatory landscape in medical device development.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop complex mechanical components and systems for medical devices using advanced 3D CAD software .
- Conduct thorough FEA and tolerance analyses to ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of device designs.
- Collaborate effectively with a remote, cross-functional team, including electrical engineers, software developers, and quality assurance specialists.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant medical device regulations and standards (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485).
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation , including design specifications, test protocols, and manufacturing documentation.
- Support prototype development, testing, and verification activities, troubleshooting design issues as they arise.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in mechanical design , with a strong focus on the medical device industry .
- Expertise in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo) and simulation tools.
- Demonstrated understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes, and sterilization techniques relevant to medical devices.
- Proven experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of medical device quality systems.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and remote work skills.
