About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Remote Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative engineering department. This position is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the UK. You will be instrumental in the conceptualization, design, and development of novel mechanical systems and components, contributing significantly to product innovation and performance enhancement. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using advanced CAD software , ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Conduct thorough simulations and analyses (e.g., CFD, thermal analysis) to predict and optimize product behavior.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, 3D models, and bills of materials for production and prototyping.
• Collaborate effectively with remote R&D, manufacturing, and project management teams through virtual communication tools.
• Participate in design reviews, providing constructive feedback and innovative solutions to engineering challenges.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of design processes, calculations, and test results.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Proven experience (5+ years) as a Mechanical Design Engineer, with a strong portfolio of design projects.
• Expertise in 3D CAD modeling and drafting, preferably with experience in generative design tools.
• Proficiency in engineering simulation and analysis software packages.
• Excellent understanding of material properties, manufacturing processes, and tolerancing .
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly in a remote setting.
