Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple drug discovery projects from target identification through to candidate selection.
• Design and execute innovative medicinal chemistry strategies to optimize lead compounds for potency, selectivity, and pharmacokinetic properties.
• Collaborate closely with biologists, pharmacologists, and DMPK scientists to assess compound efficacy and safety profiles.
• Stay abreast of the latest scientific advancements and industry trends in drug discovery and development.
• Mentor and guide junior scientists, fostering a culture of scientific excellence and innovation.
• Prepare and present detailed research plans, progress reports, and data packages for internal stakeholders and external collaborations.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or a related field with a strong emphasis on drug discovery.
• 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with a proven track record of successfully advancing drug candidates.
• Expertise in synthetic organic chemistry, SAR studies, and hit-to-lead optimization.
• Deep understanding of various therapeutic areas and disease mechanisms.
• Experience with project management and leading cross-functional teams in a remote environment.
