About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Remote Process Safety Engineer to join their global team, supporting operations including those in the Sunderland region. This position is fully remote and focuses on ensuring the highest standards of process safety across all company facilities. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust safety management systems, conducting risk assessments, and providing expert guidance on safety regulations. This is a critical role for an individual passionate about safety and capable of driving best practices from a distance, contributing significantly to a secure working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive process safety management (PSM) programs.
- Conduct thorough Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA studies.
- Review and approve Management of Change (MOC) requests for process modifications.
- Investigate process safety incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver process safety training to relevant personnel.
- Stay current with evolving process safety regulations and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience specifically in process safety engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of PSM elements (OSHA 29 CFR or equivalent).
- Proven experience conducting and leading PHAs.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and remote collaboration skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
