About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Remote Process Safety Engineer to join their expanding team, operating with a remote-first approach. This critical role will focus on ensuring the highest standards of process safety across all global operations, preventing incidents, and fostering a robust safety culture. You will work independently and collaboratively with site-based teams to conduct risk assessments, develop safety procedures, and implement best practices. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA studies.
- Develop and implement robust Process Safety Management (PSM) systems and procedures.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant national and international process safety regulations and standards.
- Provide expert advice and training on process safety principles to engineering and operations personnel.
- Oversee the management of change (MOC) process for all safety-critical modifications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of dedicated experience in process safety engineering within the chemical, petrochemical, or manufacturing industries.
- In-depth knowledge of industry safety standards such as OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, and Seveso directives.
- Proven experience in conducting and facilitating risk assessment methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex safety issues.
- Ability to work effectively and autonomously in a remote setting.
