Remote Process Safety Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Remote Process Safety Engineer to join their expanding team, operating with a remote-first approach. You will work independently and collaboratively with site-based teams to conduct risk assessments, develop safety procedures, and implement best practices. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA studies.
• Develop and implement robust Process Safety Management (PSM) systems and procedures.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant national and international process safety regulations and standards.
• Provide expert advice and training on process safety principles to engineering and operations personnel.
• Oversee the management of change (MOC) process for all safety-critical modifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years of dedicated experience in process safety engineering within the chemical, petrochemical, or manufacturing industries.
• In-depth knowledge of industry safety standards such as OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, and Seveso directives.
• Proven experience in conducting and facilitating risk assessment methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex safety issues.
• Ability to work effectively and autonomously in a remote setting.
