Process Safety Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Process Safety Engineer to join their team based in Coventry . In this vital role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the highest standards of process safety across all operational facilities, focusing on hazard identification, risk assessment, and the implementation of robust safety management systems. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct Hazard and Operability studies (HAZOP) and other risk assessment techniques.
• Develop and maintain Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and procedures.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant process safety regulations and industry standards.
• Provide training and guidance on process safety best practices to operational teams.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Process Safety Engineer in the chemical or oil and gas industry.
• Strong knowledge of risk assessment methodologies (e.g., LOPA, HAZID).
• Familiarity with Safety Integrity Level (SIL) assessments and layers of protection analysis.
• Excellent understanding of chemical process safety principles and regulations.
• Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
