About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated and experienced Remote Industrial Process Engineer to contribute to their operational excellence initiatives. This position will focus on analyzing, designing, and optimizing manufacturing and production processes, with all work conducted remotely, supporting facilities near Leeds . You will be essential in identifying areas for improvement, implementing lean methodologies, and ensuring maximum efficiency and quality output. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong technical background in industrial engineering, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with teams across different locations. This role offers the flexibility of remote work while maintaining a significant impact on our client's core operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze manufacturing workflows and production data to identify inefficiencies and areas for enhancement.
- Develop and implement process improvements utilizing Lean and Six Sigma principles, focusing on remote documentation and guidance.
- Design and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for production teams.
- Collaborate with site-based engineering and operations teams to facilitate the successful rollout of process changes.
- Conduct virtual process audits and provide recommendations for optimization and waste reduction.
- Utilize simulation software and data analysis techniques to model and predict the impact of proposed changes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of professional experience as an Industrial Engineer or Process Engineer.
- Demonstrated expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process mapping.
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work autonomously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, crucial for remote collaboration.
- Experience with simulation and modeling software, and a track record of improving processes in a manufacturing environment.
