About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Structural Engineer to join their vibrant building design team in Leeds . This role offers the chance to lead the structural design aspects of diverse and exciting architectural projects, from concept development to construction completion. You will collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and other consultants to deliver innovative, safe, and efficient structural solutions. This position is ideal for a proactive engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about creating landmark structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the structural design for a variety of building projects, including commercial, residential, and public facilities.
- Develop innovative structural concepts and detailed design solutions using advanced analysis and modelling software.
- Prepare clear and comprehensive structural drawings, calculations, and technical specifications.
- Oversee and coordinate the work of junior engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure designs are implemented correctly and safely.
- Collaborate effectively with clients, architects, and other project stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
Requirements
- Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural specialisation; Chartered Engineer (CEng) status preferred.
- A minimum of 6 years' post-graduate experience in structural engineering, with a strong portfolio of building design projects.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as ETABS, SAP2000, or STAAD.Pro, and AutoCAD/Revit.
- In-depth knowledge of structural design principles for steel, concrete, and masonry structures.
- Familiarity with relevant UK building regulations, Eurocodes, and British Standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and leadership potential.
