About the Role
Our client is seeking an innovative Remote Sensing Specialist to join their pioneering agricultural technology team. This fully remote position will leverage satellite imagery, drone data, and other geospatial technologies to analyze crop health, soil conditions, and predict yields for agricultural clients across various regions. You will be instrumental in developing and refining analytical models, interpreting complex data sets, and communicating actionable insights to support sustainable farming practices and improve agricultural efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Acquire, process, and analyze remote sensing data (satellite, aerial, drone) for agricultural applications.
- Develop and implement algorithms for crop health monitoring, yield prediction, and soil analysis.
- Interpret geospatial data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential issues in agricultural landscapes.
- Create clear and concise reports and visualizations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with agronomists and data scientists to integrate remote sensing data into broader analytical frameworks.
- Stay current with advancements in remote sensing technologies and geospatial software.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in Remote Sensing, Geospatial Science, Agriculture, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in processing and analyzing remote sensing data, with a focus on agriculture.
- Proficiency in geospatial software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and remote sensing platforms (e.g., ENVI, ERDAS Imagine).
- Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, R) for data analysis and automation.
- Experience with machine learning techniques applied to geospatial data is highly desirable.
