About the Role

Our client is looking for a talented Remote Solar Energy Systems Designer to join their growing team, supporting projects across the UK, with a focus on the Liverpool area. This role involves the end-to-end design of photovoltaic (PV) systems for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. You will utilize specialized software to create detailed system schematics, produce performance estimates, and ensure designs meet all relevant technical standards and client requirements. The successful candidate will be passionate about renewable energy and possess strong technical design skills, enabling them to contribute effectively to the expansion of solar power generation from a remote work setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and engineer solar PV systems, including array layouts, component selection, and electrical wiring diagrams.
• Perform energy yield assessments and economic analyses for proposed solar installations.
• Utilize design software (e.g., PVsyst, AutoCAD, Helioscope) to create accurate and compliant system designs.
• Ensure all designs comply with national electrical codes, building regulations, and industry best practices.
• Generate Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical documentation for project proposals and installations.
• Collaborate remotely with sales teams, project managers, and installation partners to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements

• Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience (3+ years) in solar PV system design.
• Proficiency with solar design software and tools.
• Strong understanding of solar technology, electrical principles, and energy storage systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for remote teamwork.
