About the Role
Our client, a leading provider of visual effects services for the film and television industry, is seeking a highly skilled Remote Technical Director (VFX) to join their innovative team. This crucial role involves developing and maintaining the technical infrastructure and pipelines that enable artists to create stunning visual effects. You will work closely with artists, supervisors, and producers to solve complex technical challenges, optimize workflows, and implement cutting-edge tools and techniques. This is a key opportunity for a technical leader passionate about pushing the boundaries of VFX from a fully remote setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support complex VFX pipelines and tools.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code (Python, C++, etc.) for pipeline integration.
- Collaborate with artists and supervisors to troubleshoot technical issues and implement solutions.
- Optimize rendering and processing workflows for maximum efficiency and speed.
- Research and implement new technologies and methodologies to enhance production capabilities.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the VFX production team in a remote environment.
Requirements
- Extensive experience (8+ years) as a Technical Director or Senior Pipeline TD in VFX.
- Strong programming skills in Python and C++, with experience in relevant VFX software APIs.
- Deep understanding of 3D animation, rendering, compositing, and simulation processes.
- Experience with pipeline management tools and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to technical challenges.
