About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking Remote Telecoms Network Architect to lead the design and evolution of their next-generation network infrastructure. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in the UK. You will be responsible for creating scalable, resilient, and secure network architectures that support a wide range of telecommunications services. Your expertise will guide the strategic direction of our network, ensuring it remains at the forefront of technological innovation and meets the demands of a rapidly expanding digital landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Design high-level network solutions and detailed technical architectures for voice, data, and video services across diverse platforms.
- Develop and maintain network roadmaps, technology strategies, and architectural standards.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations for adoption to enhance network capabilities and efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and product teams to ensure architectural designs are feasible and align with business objectives.
- Lead technical discussions, present architectural proposals, and provide guidance to implementation teams.
- Ensure network designs adhere to security best practices, compliance requirements, and performance benchmarks.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in telecommunications network design and architecture.
- Expertise in designing complex, large-scale IP networks, including routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), MPLS, and QoS.
- Deep understanding of cloud networking, SDN, NFV, and virtualization technologies.
- Experience with wireless technologies (5G, LTE) and optical networking solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and translate complex requirements into actionable designs.
