About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Remote Telecoms Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer to join their distributed team, supporting network operations from anywhere in the UK. This essential role involves continuous monitoring of the company's telecommunications network, identifying and resolving performance issues, and ensuring optimal service availability. You will be a critical first responder to network alerts, working collaboratively with other teams to maintain the highest levels of network reliability and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
- Actively monitor network performance, availability, and security using sophisticated NMS and monitoring tools.
- Respond promptly to network alerts, alarms, and incidents, performing initial diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Escalate complex issues to appropriate engineering teams, providing detailed information and status updates.
- Perform routine network health checks and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network events, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of NOC procedures and best practices for remote operations.
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience working in a Network Operations Center (NOC) environment, preferably within the telecoms sector .
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios) and network protocols (TCP/IP, SNMP).
- Basic understanding of routing, switching, and network troubleshooting techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, essential for effective remote collaboration and incident reporting.
