About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Remote Wildlife Conservation Biologist to contribute to their vital ecological research and conservation initiatives. This role focuses on the remote analysis of wildlife populations, habitat use, and conservation strategies. You will utilize advanced data analysis techniques, modeling, and digital communication tools to support fieldwork and policy development without requiring physical presence at field sites. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze wildlife population data, including density estimates, demographic trends, and species distribution models.
- Conduct remote assessments of habitat quality and connectivity using GIS and remote sensing data.
- Develop conservation plans and recommendations based on scientific data and research findings.
- Collaborate with field teams, researchers, and conservation partners through digital platforms.
- Contribute to grant writing and the preparation of scientific publications.
- Monitor the effectiveness of conservation interventions and adapt strategies as needed.
Requirements
- PhD or Master's degree in Wildlife Biology, Ecology, Conservation Biology, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated experience in wildlife data analysis, population modeling, and conservation planning.
- Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, SAS) and GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
- Experience with analyzing data from camera traps, GPS telemetry, or bioacoustics is a plus.
- Strong understanding of conservation principles and ecological theory.
- Excellent written communication skills for reports and publications, and strong virtual collaboration abilities.
