Research Scientist - Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK)

Our client, a cutting-edge pharmaceutical research organization, is seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist specializing in Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) to join their innovative drug discovery team in Derby . This role is crucial for evaluating the absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME) properties of potential drug candidates, ensuring they meet the necessary profile for further development. You will employ state-of-the-art techniques and contribute vital data to guide the selection and optimization of new therapeutic agents. Key Responsibilities

• Design and conduct in vitro and in vivo studies to characterize the DMPK properties of drug candidates.
• Analyze and interpret ADME data, providing critical insights into drug behavior.
• Utilize bioanalytical techniques, such as LC-MS/MS, to quantify drug and metabolite concentrations in biological matrices.
• Develop and validate bioanalytical methods for drug and metabolite quantitation.
• Collaborate with medicinal chemists, pharmacologists, and toxicologists to integrate DMPK data into drug discovery programs.
• Contribute to the preparation of regulatory submission documents related to DMPK.

Requirements

• PhD or Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in DMPK research within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
• Hands-on experience with in vitro ADME assays and bioanalysis using LC-MS/MS.
• Strong understanding of drug metabolism pathways, drug transporters, and pharmacokinetic principles.
• Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, with excellent scientific writing skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment in Derby .
