Secondary Tutor - St Helens
Location: St Helens
Hours: 5-15 hours per week
Start Date: September 2026
Duration: Ongoing
Prospero Teaching are recruiting for an experienced Secondary Tutor to provide flexible 1:1 tuition to a young person in St Helens.
We're looking for an educator who can deliver purposeful lessons, establish a strong rapport with their learner and help them make meaningful progress across their secondary education.
The Role Includes
- Delivering personalised secondary-level tuition
- Creating structured and engaging lesson plans
- Supporting the learner with core academic skills
- Identifying barriers to progress and adapting teaching accordingly
- Developing confidence and motivation
- Monitoring learning and reporting on progress
- Providing consistent encouragement and support
Requirements
- Experience teaching or tutoring at secondary level
- Good knowledge of the secondary curriculum
- Previous 1:1 tuition experience advantageous
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently
- QTS, PGCE or equivalent teaching experience desirable
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
- Right to Work in the UK
- Two professional references relating to work with children
