Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst

About the Role

Our client is looking for a vigilant and detail-oriented Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst to join their security team in Reading . Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts from various security tools, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint detection solutions.
• Analyze security events to identify potential threats, anomalies, and policy violations.
• Investigate security incidents, gather evidence, and document findings according to established procedures.
• Perform initial triage of security alerts and escalate critical incidents to senior analysts or incident response teams.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of SOC procedures and playbooks.
• Stay updated on current cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and attack methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles , network protocols, and common attack vectors.
• Familiarity with security monitoring tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security solutions.
• Ability to analyze logs and security events to identify potential threats.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
