Job Description
Hays Education are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Rugby to recruit a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of pupils with additional needs while becoming part of a supportive and inclusive school community.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and reach their full potential. You may be supporting children on a 1:1 basis or within small groups, depending on the needs of the school.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs
Supporting children with a range of needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties
Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and interventions
Promoting independence, confidence, and social development
Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff
The successful candidate will have:
Experience working with children, ideally within a primary school setting
Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN
A patient, caring, and resilient approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential
