Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Hays Education are working in partnership with a specialist SEN school to recruit caring, resilient, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support pupils with a range of additional needs.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated team supporting children and young people with complex learning difficulties, autism, communication needs, and associated behaviours. The role involves providing both classroom and individual support to help pupils access learning and achieve their full potential.
Your new role
Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
Assisting the class teacher with delivering engaging, adapted lessons
Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
Supporting pupils with communication, social skills, and independence
Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families
Helping create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable
Patient, compassionate, and adaptable
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
Relevant qualifications are beneficial but not essential
