About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Aerospace Systems Engineer to join their forward-thinking team, working remotely across the UK with a focus on projects based in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK . This role involves the conceptualization, design, integration, and testing of complex aerospace systems throughout their lifecycle. You will lead technical efforts, drive innovation, and ensure the robust performance of critical systems that form the backbone of advanced aerospace platforms. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and integration of complex aerospace systems, from concept to operational deployment.
- Define system requirements, architecture, and interfaces, ensuring alignment with project objectives and safety standards.
- Conduct rigorous system analysis, modeling, and simulation to validate performance and identify potential risks.
- Oversee and contribute to the testing and verification phases, ensuring all system functionalities meet design specifications.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.
- Manage system-level trade studies and make critical technical decisions to optimize system design and performance.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in Aerospace Systems Engineering , with a proven track record of leading complex projects.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, including requirements management, architecture design, and verification & validation.
- Proficiency with systems engineering tools and methodologies (e.g., DOORS, SysML).
- Experience with control systems, propulsion, avionics, or other key aerospace subsystems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Master's or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline is highly desirable.
